I installed a new Delco Remy external regulator about a year ago and it has been working fine until now. When running the car with no power demands on the battery, my volt meter (and gauge) will read between 15 and 16 volts. I removed the cover and the points don't appear to be sticking. Can I adjust the points since they do have a slot and a screw that when loosened look like they will move back and forth. If so, how far should I move them and in which direction? Please keep in mind that I can drive the car with the lights on and it charges almost dead on 14 volts.:confused:
