I ordered a voltmeter from american auto wire to replace the factory ammeter in my console and it is a direct replacement so looks factory. I was just wondering if anyone else has installed one of these and how the wiring will be?

Scott - I saw those also, they look like a nice piece. One thing that was not clear to me after watching the video - it sounded like the voltage gauge was primarily designed to replace the factory ammeter if you are running an upgraded or aftermarket wiring harness (higher output alt)
It didn't sound like it was plug and play for an OEM setup. I believe they are a sponsor so hopefully they will chime in:thumbsup:

I do have an aftermarket harness supplied by them (aaw) as I added the center console to my car along with guages, tach etc.. to make it a z-28 clone so hopefully it works well?????

it should work out perfect - post some pics - I hope it can be wired up into a stock harness also.

That's the holy grail! We've been wishing someone would produce an voltmeter replacement for the factory ammeter.

I've been hoping someone would make this! Am I the only one with whit faced gages? The volt gage is brushed steel.

Anyone know if they are planning to come out with one for the 67?

Voltmeter does not wire the same as an ammeter so it will not work with the factory harness. The guage was designed to be used with their Classic Update Kits. Ammeter goes inline positive side between the alternator and battery to read charge rate. Voltmeter can be placed most anywhere in the system as long as it is unfused (still needs to be switched) and needs one positive and one ground

In addition to what MIke said above, the voltmeter should be getting power from an IGN source so the meter remains operational when cranking the engine. ACC power cuts off during the crank cycle.
