View Full Version : tech team? ejs4732 Sep 10th, 09, 01:24 PM not sure who to address this to, but "tech team" keeps showing up under my sign on name "ejs4732", and to my knowledge, i'm not on a tech team. any suggestions rojo Sep 10th, 09, 01:29 PM It's automatic after (I think) 30 posts. Just means your part of the Team. Steptoe Sep 10th, 09, 01:47 PM Oh that happens when people ask enough questions and are then consided a techie cause they have learnt enough.. lol Or you have posted enough time to automatically get promoted .... ejs4732 Sep 10th, 09, 01:51 PM hopefully there's no exam ... SPARKY69 Sep 10th, 09, 01:54 PM chris what part of nc are you at??? ejs4732 Sep 10th, 09, 03:17 PM hey Bill, winston salem right now, working in elkin but likely taking a new job in pinehurst. what about yourself? SPARKY69 Sep 11th, 09, 05:17 AM chris,...Im in hendersonville nc(wnc)....your only a couple hours away!!! zlek131 Sep 11th, 09, 08:42 AM It's automatic after (I think) 30 posts. Just means your part of the Team. Is that really the case? Bill (sparky69) has +3800 posts and no tech team by his name. Is that because he is a member? Always wondered about the tech team, senior tech, etc.... clwilcox33 Sep 11th, 09, 09:39 AM Before the site started accepting paid memberships, there were levels a person achieved with a certain number of posts. Those levels were Tech Team (about 30 pots) and Senior Tech (about um..don't remember the amount, 200?). Anyway, the titles don't mean anything other than you have a certain number of posts. When the site started accepting paid memberships, there were 2 levels, Team Member and Gold Member. These titles take the place of the old Tech Team and Senior Tech titles once a membership is paid for (likes Sparky's title above). Now of course we have Gold Lifetime Member as well. So.......you'll see: no title = new member Tech Team = 30+ posts Senior Tech = 200?? + posts Team Member = First level paid membership Gold Member = (previously) top level paid membership Gold Lifetime Member = (current) top level paid membership and also: Moderator and Administrator Hope that explains them all. Steptoe Sep 11th, 09, 02:45 PM hopefully there's no exam ... 'fraid so m8 has 2 questions 1/ Do know know what a ford is? 2/Do u have a genuine interest in camaros? 3/Are the best Camaros in NZ and Aussie? Melrose RS Sep 11th, 09, 02:56 PM Steps- that's 3 questions. Steptoe Sep 11th, 09, 03:29 PM Steps- that's 3 questions. OH crap....confussion...should I delete one of the questions or change the "2 question" ? Or just learn to count lol zlek131 Sep 11th, 09, 06:09 PM So could one say that the site has no employed techs? I would assume the administrators and moderators are actually employed by the site...is that right? Not that I care either way, I just always wondered how this great froum operated. Sold my 67 RS/SS to go back to med school. Will NEVER make that mistake again. Prodigy customs is protouring my 68 RS/SS now, its gonna be a sweet ride, i'll post when i get it back in a few months 3) Best camaros?? i've seen awesome ones everywhere, although kinda partial to one in North Carolina :-) now lets work on that counting, 1...2...3...4... lol clwilcox33 Sep 12th, 09, 01:48 PM So could one say that the site has no employed techs? This site has no employees. None of the administrators or moderators are paid. Every one of us volunteers our time to help keep the site running because we love the hobby and it's our way of contributing to it. Al does give us a nice Christmas gift every year though  Got a really cool vintage looking clock (https://www.usclock.net/)last year! There are a ton of contributing members, and a couple moderators, that are engineers, mechanics, etc for a living and they all volunteer their time to help people here. zlek131 Sep 12th, 09, 04:06 PM That is very cool. I had no idea this was all volunteers. All of you do a great job. If the need ever arises and the site needs a hand, please don't hesitate to speak up as I am always willing to lend a hand. |
