I have just installed two new engine harnesses on my 67 rsss camaro and I cannot locate my alternator ground. I have found the power (red) and the connector which were routed together, but cannot find ground. Can anyone tell me what color wire te ground should be? I have another wire that does not make sense either. A green wire with some sort of mesh cloth around it,that does not have right connector end if it is alternator ground. Which engine harness would it be located on if at all?

Generally, there is no alternator ground wire, its grounded through the bracketry.

The alt case and voltage regulator chassis should be at the same potential for both to work correctly.

Dark green with a black cloth sleeve is the temperature sending unit lead, goes to the drvr head between cyl 1 & 3.

I understand the alternator portion now. The temp sending unit lead that you say goes between 1 and 3 cyl plugs into what? The lead has a connector on it???

The original temp sending unit goes into a threaded hole in the cylinder head between the 1 and 3 spark plug holes.

It can be the intake manifold. OE design had it between the cylinders as mentioned.
Do you have a hole in the head now? Aftermarket heads?

If so, sftermarket uses a 3/8 inch pipe thread sender rather than OE design 1/2 inch pipe thread sender.
