I have a 305 engine out of a 81 el camino that im putting in my 68 camaro, I wanted to know if a 4 speed muncie will fit on the engine or would I have to run a 5 speed t5 tranny from the same year?

The bell housing and trans should bolt right up.

4 speed or 5 speed, the engine wont care. Make sure the back of the crank has a relief for the bearing and make sure there is a provision on the d/s of the block for the bellcrank.
