Had my 69 out for a spin today, worked great and then I had no clutch. The linkage all seems to be working fine, could the fork have broken off inside the bell housing? I heard no strange sounds when it happened and to get home started the car in gear and drove it, and did not notice any noises.

Had this on a 70 Z28 one time. The z bar pivot that screws into the block broke off. Not fun or easy to fix. Hopefully yours is something simpler. Good luck.

could be the release fork slid off the pivot stud or the stud broke off inside the bell housing. You might be able to re-engage it through the window.

I've now gone through the linkage from under the dash to the fork it all works fine, pulled the boot off the fork and its still on the pivot ball, I'm guessing that the pressure plate is maybe shot. Would the pressure plate just go all of a sudden like this? I would think it would make some noise or something. Oh well looks like the answer is only going to come by pulling the tranny and bell housing.
