Checked over the previous posts but have not been able to find a definitve answer so here goes. How far is the windshield recessed below the face of the windshield opening so that the trim will fit properly. I had my windshield installed and I think it is too low.

Also the clips that hold the lower winshield trim in place, not the two outside ones that fasten inside the fender but the ones in the middle.. do they fasten to the inner cowl with screws? When I took the car apart the old ones were not fasten to anything. If someone has a picture it would sure help.

Thanks

I think they are held on with screws. If I remember correctly.

Yes, the lower clips are held on by 5/16 hex head screws. The lower edge of the windshield is determined by the upper edge, is the top and side gaps consistant? There are 2 stops on the lower edge that are used to get the windsheild in the correct place.

The problem is not how high or low the windshield is vertically which the two lower brackets are used for but how deep the widshield is in relation to the face of the windshield frame. I would sure like a picture of the lower trim braclets installed on a car.

Thanks for the replies.

Just put on a side piece. If it fits properly and the windshield depth is consistent then the lowers have to fit correctly. There is also adjustment in the lower clips. Someone with a cowl panel off will have to post pics but you can install lower moldings without them. Just slide all the clips on the moldings, locate, mark the holes, and drill. Done.
