I'm back to assembling my Muncie shifter. The hollow shaft that goes through the shifter body has a 'collar' on the outboard side. The inboard side of the shaft, has a wide groove, but no clip or retainer.

I realize that the BIG bolt goes though this shaft, and that would limit movement....However, am I missing some type of inboard retainer on the hollow shaft?

There should be a rubber donut on the trans side end of the main shaft
