Are these different than the standard large rubber strikers with two rubber prongs on them? That is what I installed but it seems the kits for convertibles may be different.

The wedges are used to keep the body straight by using the doors as structure items as there is no roof as in the coupe body.

When the 'vert doors are closed, the wedges keep the doors tight and prevents the body from folding up.

If your talking about the rubber door stop bumpers, verts are the same as coupes. I think Everett is explaining the function of the door hinge wedges which prevents door sag and adds structural rigidity for convertibles.

Correct, the door stops are the same.
