I'm new to this forum so wanted to run a deal by you guys to get your take. I have an opportunity to get a 1994 z28 6speed but not sure what is a good asking price. The chasis has 180k but the rEbuilt motor has 30k. Has short shifter, two racing seats, body is in really good condition and drives good. What should I look for also and what's a good asking price? Oh, owned by mechanic's son.

Do a search on ebay; see whats out there and what is bid.

4th gens are not collector cars; the car as described is a notch or two up from salvage.

Check for comparable cars on Craigslist also. My guess would be in the $2800-$3800 range depending on condition.

Perfect condition interior, new brakes, struts and shocks, engine mods, near perfect paint, $3,500.00 tops.

Those are fun to drive but it sucks when you have to do a tune up. Those back spark plugs are horrible.

Took me 7 beers to put plugs in one of them once.

Thanks for the feedback. By the way, what year/models are considered collectible?

2800-3500 depending on condition sounds right. Id also look around at others as well. Like William mentioned theyre not collectable yet. Theyre cheap and plentiful. Even the 98-02 LS1 f bodys are becoming more and more affordable.
