How would a low gear like 3.31 work with a 9.5" or 10" stall around 3000
I bought a 11" 2600 stall but I am starting to think I will be unhappy with the low stall performance....... peak torque is 598 @3800 rpms 468 BBC TH350.....cam is Isky Mega 280, it says a 2500 or higher stall....

This will be my first time with running a low gear. All gears I ever had were 3.73 or higher........

With the 11" I'm afraid it will run low 12's
I'm thinking with a 9.5 or 10 with a 3000 stall I could hit at least 11's easy...... Thx for your advice.....

It will be just fine.

I have an 11" 2600 stall converter, Coan Pro Street. Behind my 383 it stalls at 3000. Drives like a stock converter with my 3.42's and 28" tires.

If you actually have that much torque your hp is at least 500. It should hit easy 11's with a stock converter assuming your car is a 1st gen Camaro. I'm sure I have over 100 lb/ft less than you.

did you get the coan 11" that was $395 COA-20210 (http://www.coanracing.com/Catalog.asp?ProductDetail=568). The 11" I have is from PTC.....

Example :

3.31's are high gears - lower numerically
3.42's gears you have
3.73's are low gears - higher numerically

Please help avoid confusion !

X2...I think you will be just fine. That BBC is gonna flash that converter 3K no problem.
