Hey Folks,

I didn't have a front bumper to start with, just the side and frame brackets. I didn't have the front center bracket, so I ordered it with my bumper. I just got them, and according to the AIM, this bracket gets bolted to the front bumper.

There are no holes in the bumper for it. There is just one hole in the bottom for the license bracket I assume. I hate to have to do this, but am I safely assuming I'm going to have to drill holes in my new bumper to mount this bracket? If so, how far back from the edges should the holes be?

I'm considering not even using this thing. I know I can touch up around the holes I have to drill, but there's just something I hate about having to drill into new chrome.

Here's a pic, and thanks in advance for any advice or ideas... Brian

Well, quite honestly, I don't know what the function of this set up is :o....yes, I installed it...the rubber bumper just barely touches the ridge in the lower valance. I guess it's to help maintain a proper bumper to valance gap since there are slight variables in parts ??

I have a GM bumper and the holes are 3/4" on center from the inner, lower edge. Your bumper may differ, so to be safe I'd mount the bumper loosely and check to be sure where it needs to be....that, or not use it at all.

Thank you much for the response and especially the measurement. I guess I'll drill holes and use it. The General put it there, so I might as well put it back. Doubtful it would do much to save the valance in a front end collision though... Thanks again, Brian
