: Shaved Drip rails
1967rallysport Sep 18th, 09, 07:13 PM All right fella's my drip rails are all rusty, and thinking of shaving them but.....a couple questions first. (I tried to search but no dice) If you have them how much is leaking water an issue? I would also like to see some pictures of a 1st Gen with the drip rails shaved if that is possible?
Iamtheonlyreal1 Sep 19th, 09, 04:45 PM I guess I am not understanding what you mean by leaking.. The Glass will not leak because the drip rails are gone. You will get wet if you open the doors when it is raining because the drip rails are not channeling the water away from the door opening..
Here are a couple of pic of the way I did it...

Mav68erick Sep 19th, 09, 04:51 PM i like that, no windshield trim either = ) got a better pic of the front of the car?
Iamtheonlyreal1 Sep 19th, 09, 06:04 PM That is our Flush Mount Glass Kit, that we offer for the first Gen Camaro and firebird.. We have several other lines coming out in the Classic Industries and Original Parts Group Catalogs..
The Glass in the Black car is a first prototype. The windshield that comes in our production kits, comes all the way down to the wiper cal...

Mav68erick Sep 19th, 09, 06:25 PM i love it, cept those mirros on the 68 they are about as yucky as the new challengers, they look like Mickey Mouses Foot or a golf club, theyd prolly look better if they made them with out suck a long leg on them, but the black car is awesome, i wanted to do the same thing, but Sunburst Orange Paint, Black Trim Black Bumpers black tail light housings
6781camaro Sep 19th, 09, 08:42 PM Verrrrrry sweet! LOVE the black one!
How hard is it to convert the front and rear windshields to be flush?
I don't like those mirrors either... sorry. But that's still a SWEET Camaro!
Iamtheonlyreal1 Sep 19th, 09, 09:55 PM With our complete kit, it only takes a few hours of install time.. No cutting, no welding, no paint work, no body mods, ect... Just install our glass in the place of yours, and it is done.. We also have an intergrated antenna at the top of the windshield so you can remove the antenna from the fender.. These are actual glass... A laminated windshield and tempered rear glass with tint options..
Steptoe Sep 19th, 09, 09:58 PM I like them..except for those mirrors...
And the chrome trim on grill , door hanles and tail lights now looks odd ball...
Needs the same concept with window trim right thru the design...I still recon If Gm took the 1st gen, keep the basic design the same do something along the lines above, update drive train...interor but keep the baic design similar...
They would again have a winner on the yards...
But no drip rails and water inside, like the 2nd gen...that would have to be sorted.
prostreet69camaro Sep 19th, 09, 11:17 PM Robert,
Do you have the side glass yet?? We are getting ready to install the front and back glass in Marks Fields 69 camaro.
1967rallysport Sep 19th, 09, 11:53 PM Holy crap them are sweet, I love the shaved door handles as well on the black one! That's I think I gotta get me some poppers!!
Iamtheonlyreal1 Sep 20th, 09, 12:31 AM Still working on the Side Glasses.. Got a little side track with new kit for other Models, we have the 68-72 Malibu/Chevelle coming out shortly along with several other lines that were picked up by Classic Industries and Original Parts Group. I am still trying to ensure the side glasses are going to install easy and function correctly.. If I can get them to work properly, it will be an awsome benefit to our kits and will bring our cars up to the modern age.
How is Marks car coming? Let me know if you guys need any help or advice on the install, I am always available for technical..
