: Timing question

I have an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, (without vacuum advance) that’s going into a 68 Camaro with a 400 small block. The engine has Vortec heads and a mild Edelbrock Cam.
I have a centrifugal advance kit and am wondering what springs I should use and what the initial and total timing should be. The advance busing kit gives me 4 choices, 28, 25, 21 or 18 degrees of timing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use the 18* i think is black with 18 initial for 36 total with one light and one medium spring that will be a good place to start .:beers:

I stepped up and went vacuum advance only to read after I could have bought an MSD programmer to advance my car at idle which is where I really need it.
Still tuning the 8361 so will get back to you. Alot of people seem to like black 18 stop.

I'm running a 383 with a light silver and medium blue with a total of 34 and an initial of 16....seems to run pretty good.
