Hey everyone, I have a question that I would really like some help with. This is the second time that this has happened this summer already and it happened once last summer. My brake pedal is going all the way to the floor and my brake light comes on. When I pump the brakes a few times I get a little more resistance on it but I know that this shouldn't be happening. When this has happened in the past we put new brake pads on it and new discs. Please help me if you know why this could be happening. I drive a 75 Camaro.
Thanks

im thinking your master cylinder is bad or maybe your rear wheel cylinders are bad!!..step 1,..is it wet where the master bolts up to the booster??..step 2,.. take off the rear drums to see if it is wet in the drums around the wheel cylinders??....make sure your system is bled correctly!!..might want to check that also, maybe the first thing to check!!

If there are no leaks, anywhere then it would be a bad master that is leaking past the seals internally. You won't see a leak from the master with this condition.

It sounds like something is not right with the brakes!

If you have fluid in the system, then the master is leaking internally. It's usually worse with lighter pedal pressure. The seals are worn out or there may be corrosion in the bore.

Bill,
Good to mention drum brake adjustment, rear drums if out of adjustment can cause a consistantly low pedal.

If it still does it i would replace the master!!
