Possibly your adjustable traction bar on the driver side needs more preload with you in the car. Nice photo and wheel stand.

Pretty much whenever a car isnt leaving straight it is going left.Usually the most common problem is uneven weight loading of the rear tires. You car looks to be leaving very level which means you probably have it heavy on the right rear. You could loosen that traction bar up some and let the car pitch rotate a little bit,or you could try softening the compression of that shock if you have adjustable shocks. If all else fails, put the car on the alignment rack, check rear toe{yes it can be out a bit} make sure the rear is square under the car and then put it on scales. With a short instant center like yours I wouldnt go more then 50 to 100# heavy on the right rear.

Oh and one more thing, check the rear tire pressure. The right rear should be slightly less{like half and pound max}then the left rear, you should never have more air in the right rear tire on a car that hit the tires as hard as yours.

Good luck.

The first thing I would do is check and make sure the rear is square to the front suspension. Then check the preload. There may be to much preload in the pass bar.

Too much pass side preload, too light drvr side preload.
Need more air pressure in pass slick - see the 'cupping' marks on the tread.
Alignment is not going to fix this event at the starting line/launch, alignment will help further down the track - stability.

Nice stand, nice car.
Congrats for the 2008 win.

Switch to CalTracs & Calvert Racing split mono leaf springs, there rear adjustable shocks are great too. Also a spool in the rear would help.

The car is to flat for a bar or spring to be very far off . I think you should look at tire pressure . Increase the pressure in the left rear because hitting the tire that hard makes it smaller from the centerline to the track and thats what turns the car.

Thanks for all the help, reset the preload on the bars and rotated tires back and the car is healed, drivers side had 3 more full turns in bar than passenger side. Goes straight as can be now! Thanks again!

rotated tires back Another one of us who rotates their slicks to keep them pliable.
