Not sure if this is the right area of the site to ask this but here goes. I am curious if anyone has data to support when GM used the different style of tags/decals on their parts? I have seen the older parts with the Aqua tage adn large numbers then there are ones with smalled numbers and a different blu then the barcode type. Just curious if there are others and if there is some info on the years parts were produced with certain tags. Thanks

Are you asking about packaging for Service parts? There were no GM tags or labels on production-line parts. :)

Yes I am talking of the tags that identify the parts that you can and could buy at the local GM dealer. The ones you get today have a barcode on them and tags from on back were of several different variants. Just curious if anyone had data on when certain type tags were used.

One of our NCRS guys follows that sort of thing, and he indicates that part numbers on labels on Service boxes were mostly stamped prior to 1978, and the computer-printed part numbers on box labels started appearing in 1978.
:beers:
