Sorry if posted in wrong place here guys, but here is an interesting one. Van Nuys VIN, Norwood TT.

Response from seller "VIN is legit, don't know what happened, very interested in offers"....

VIN is a Feb 69 number, and tag does not appear legit. Someone wanted an X66D80 tag, but didn't think about an LA VIN tripping them up. Plus, I believe the last Norwood built 69 models were coded 11A; an 11B 68 build would not have used this tag.

Yes, I did. I pointed out the obvious and I reminded him that as a 100% feedback powerseller on eBay he may want to consider the issues given that true Camaro experts would pick up on this right away.

At any rate, we have the VIN and TT associated w/ this car. If there is a Yenko group, they may want to know about it.

No big deal, as there were no X66D80 Yenkos, and no Van Nuys Yenkos. Also, no Camaros with body built in Norwood, and final build in LOS. :)

Don't worry, he went to order a new trim tag, and some puddy, WILL BE BACK SOON.

I can't honestly say I have ever seen any Garnet Red Yenko's. Did they make any? If so, I would guess it is one of the less common colors.

Garnet Red was not one of the 6 Yenko Camaro colors for 69.

I think there is a one-off white car, but don't recall the details.

Yenko only had 6 colors in 69.
But Jack Douglass Chev (a Yenko distributor) started ordering 69 COPOs *and* bought the Yenko stripe kit from Yenko, per an agreement with Don Yenko. The cars were advertised and sold as Yenkos. So they were authorized Yenkos (though not all were sold with stripes). Jack did order the cars in several colors, including white.

It looks like they tried to make a correct Yenko clone by using the right casting numbers and SW gauges but they went way off on the color, interior, and options.

The average Yenko was std black interior and was low in options. This car with houndstooth interior, chamber ex, space saver, non Yenko color, etc , does not follow the sprit of a real Yenko.

The ad claims "We have spent countless hours and dollars to make this car indistinguishable between a real Yenko" but looks like they didn't follow the basic Yenko order.
