Roger
Thank you so much Roger!! It seems like a nice car, not a rare car but one that one can enjoy!!..its great that a newbie can get this kind of help that fast, thank you so much.
rogerh Sep 27th, 09, 09:18 PM Kelly don't sale your car short. If that is a original SS/RS we would like to see some pics. If it has not been restored we would like some more info. A number matching 350 4 speed that is not molested could be a very rare car.
Roger
How you broke it down for me is how he (the seller) says it is, i have pics of the engine numbers, the vin and a few general pics of the car, it is the correct ext. color as per the tag, it has a new black int. in it though. it has the orginal dist, carb, trans and 12 bolt rear diff. I have yet to see this car in person, It also has the "round" traction bar on one side. And black california l/c plates as it stayed in l.a. its whole life so he says, also he says that the 4p on the tag proves it to ve a rs/ss? Also you say it could be a rare car, how so?, the numbers decoded by vin tag say different, please take that as a polite question. i emailed the owner for more info tonight. He says the color combo is rare? I am learning as fast as i can so all advise is taken seriously. Thank you so much!
vincevs Sep 28th, 09, 09:43 AM Sounds like a great car... post some pictures and the guys online here can help you out with original vs aftermarket etc. Also, if it is a really good price you might want to keep the seller details etc. to a minimum.
rich pern Sep 28th, 09, 10:09 AM also he says that the 4p on the tag proves it to ve a rs/ss?
I think a 4P with a manual could also be a L30/M20 (327/275hp 4 Speed) car. Which would still be a nice car.
What is the suffix code on the engine, that will tell you if it is a SS or L30 car?
Rich
Kurt S Sep 28th, 09, 10:43 AM I agree that Roger's decode is not accurate.
A 2L 4P car could either be a L30/M20 or a SS350. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes
Can you email me the other pics of the #'s you have?
Great color combo.
Remember, condition is everything....
67L78conv Sep 28th, 09, 01:59 PM Sometimes I hate programming with multiple variables, this error was fixed about an hour after this decode was posted.
It could be like Kurt or Rich have said either and L30 or an SS, what are the numbers on the engine the rest of the car?
sorry for the short reply, at work, the block is stamped vot25ms....along with the partial vin..more time after work,,
choptop Sep 28th, 09, 05:58 PM sorry for the short reply, at work, the block is stamped vot25ms....along with the partial vin..more time after work,,
If that stamp is original (need pics) and is V0125MS (a T is out of place but is likely a 1) then that engine is a Flint plant 1967 350 with manual transmission, 295hp built on Jan 25th = SS350:hurray:

Pics have been emailed, I can't figure out how to post them here, thanks for all the help, you guys are great!!!
Kurt S Sep 29th, 09, 12:23 AM Car has the original MS engine in it, so it's a RS/SS350.
I'll try to reply to your email asap, it's a busy time of year here....

Thanks for all your help and the warm welcome!!..I never expected this kind of help so fast!!..thanks again. Hopefully he emails me back and i can see about someone lookin at it for me, and then talk price??? wadda ya all think its worth assuming its all good??...
jg95z28 Sep 29th, 09, 02:48 PM Its a shame the interior isn't correct. Tahoe Turquoise with the turquoise deluxe interior is pretty desireable imho.
Kurt S Sep 29th, 09, 08:38 PM Yup, the interior change is a bummer. It would be hard to take back to turquoise with original parts...
getting worried he hasn't emailed me back...i would love to return it back to the orgn. int color if it all worked out...
Well, He backed out for what ever reason, so my search continues. Thank you to all you guys that helped out a newbie!!....i ain't goin anywhere till i can post a pic of my own first gen here, so be ready for more questions!!...lol. On to the next one.!!
