I'm install factory carpet in my 69 Camaro and I have to make some cuts, in the carpet to go around the tubing of the rollcage.
At this area where I now have this cut, and a hole for the tubing, how do you join the two pieces of carpet together to keep them from seperating?
Do you use some type of tape, just like they do for house carpet?
thanks
Bruce

I think they used a hot glue gun in some spots in my house. Regular carpet tape may give up with the interior heat a car sees.

I wonder if a can of 3M spray on adhesive would work. I used it on my rear package tray and it worked remarkably well.

I used the 3M spray on mine. This was 14 years ago. Just make small cuts around the roll bar then glued it down. Use Acraysol ( spell ) to get the glue off the carpet. If I saw where the carpet was cut I sprayed interior paint over the seam. Mine was black though. Where you can see the edge I bought some webbing and it went over the carpet edge then I sewed it on with my wifes sewing machine.
I also broke the sewing machine. Make sure you use a industrial sewing machine.

Home Depot has some really sticky double face tape for interior carpet. It's used to join two sections of carpet together. I've never used it in a vehicle so not sure if the heat would be an issue.it's pretty sticky stuff though.
