I am wanting a new set of wheels for my 1967 Camaro. particularly, the TTOs.

I took off my rallyes today and measured the backspacing and this is what I have.

Front 15x6 with a 4.25" back spacing (The front of my car has disc brakes. They are single piston calipers like what came on 69 Camaros)

Rear 15x8 with a 4" back spacing. Car has factory 8.2 rear end with drum brakes.

Tires

Front- BFG Radial T/A 215/65/15

Rear- BFG Radial T/A 255/60/15

My tires are almost new and I want to reuse them on the new wheels.

The sizing that I have found for the TTOs is:

15x7 5x4 3/4 3.75

15x8 1/2 5x4 3/4 3.75

Will these work on my car with my current tires? Do I need to purchase spacers?

I would go with 15x7 in the back .the 15x8 dont have enough backspace and will make the tire look like its too far outside.Just my opinion.

The 8 1/2 with 3 3/4 back will not be enough backspacing. Like above I would go with the 7 if this is the wheel you want!!

Huh ? the back spacing is the same for the 7 or the 8 1/2. The 8 1/2 is just wider. Isn't it the inside of the tire that will give him problems, not the extra 1 1/2 on the outside ? The 5 x 4 3/4 is 5 lugs on a 4 3/4 bolt circle.

No, the extra 1 1/2 inches would be on the outside (fender side) of your car. The backspace is measured from the mounting surface of the wheel to the rear outside edge (backside) so these two wheels are the same on the back, the 8 1/2 is that much wider to the front!!

I agree, that is what I said.

So the wheel would protrude out too far? I have a 4" back spacing on a 8" rallye now. So with a 8.5" rim with 3.75" back spacing, it would stick out 4.75" past the hub where my current rim sticks out 4"? I'm trying to understand how the measurements work.
