Nice & clean. I am working a Mega shifter into my factory console. Do you like the 2004R? My Art Carr works great. Brian.

Kevin, looks great! i have the same thing going on. same shifter and console but i powder coated that plate black. I also wrapped the console in a textured black vinyl. i cant install it until it comes back from paint but it should look cool.
here are some "in progress" shots.

Thanks Car nut, I have an Art Carr also. I purchased the "extreme" model with the 9.5" lock up convertor. A little to early to tell, still playing with the TV cable. I thought it would shift firmer, but so far so good. I'm running a 3.70 ratio rear with a 27" tire. When in fourth gear and with it locked up the motor turns about 2200 rpm at 70 MPH.

Keypilot, nice job! Are you going to cover the door lid? I had to cut mine up a bit to get it to fit and sit right. If you noticed I raised it up a little and moved the whole console back about 4", I got short arms! What color blue is your car, looks like mine?

Was that the shifter designed for the 70's console or was it the stand alone? I need to put a shifter in mine as well.

The interior is filthy because I'm working all the time, but this is the Quicksilver without the counsole mount and a Hurst boot. Kind of a fake stick shift look.

Any interest in making and selling me the cover plate that you used on your console? Also do you know if there is another shift gear plate for use on a 3 speed since yours shows for a 4 speed?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, it comes with both 3 and 4 speed plates.

Kevin K, I have not decided what to do with the door yet. i had to cut mine up a little to make it work as well. my blue is earl scheib $99 paint job blue. :) lol. but not for long. ;) it should be back from Prodigy in a few months with a new suit.

Do you have to cut any of the console for it to fit? Also do you know what the difference is between the console and non-console units other then the plastic base? Also please let me know if you ever decide to make extra base plates to sell.

Thanks again,
Kevin

OverTheTop75 I purchased the console model first and ended up returning it and using the Non consloe model B&M # 80683. If I remember correctly the console model is a different overall size which did not fit right. Even with the non consloe shifter there is alot of fabricating and cutting needed to open up the opening in the console. I started by closing up the original hole with a piece of thin gauge sheet metal. After I mounted the shifter to the tunnel in a spot that was comfortable, which for me turned out to be roughly 4" back from the stock postion. I made some spacer blocks to raise the console up to clear the height of the shifter. I then fabbed two flat straps a little wider than the opening in the console and attached / screwed them to the top of the shifter frame under the console opening. Slid the console down over the shifter checking postion front to back and side to side. I then cut a piece of 1/16" thick aluminum to the shape of the recess of the opening on top of the console. Then in that cut a opening for the shifter and frame just slightly smaller the plastic chrome B&M base. The four screws run through the plastic B&M chrome base, through holes in the 1/16" piece of aluminum and into the flat straps sandwiching it all together. Just take your time making sure everything lines up, is centered and there is no binding. I must of taken the console in and out dozens of times to get it right. Hope this helps.

WOW! Thank you very much! This will be one of my many winter projects to get done. I have a promatic 2 hurst shifter in it now but the detents are worn and it does not shift good.

If you are asking about mine, it's been a while but I believe it is an Autometer piece.

What is that device above your heater controls?

Thats the controls / digital readout for the CD palyer that is in the trunk. The red switch on the left is to activate the power to the line lock switch on the shifter. And the green one on the right is to lock up the torque converter.
