I really need some drag radials for my 69. the only problem I have is I have 7 in with 3.5" b/s Centerline Auto Drags... I can't afford to buy the wheels also...since I had to fork out quite a few bucks for the new trans... I have run these size tires on Weld Draglites years back, because I was poor and that is all I had... Now they didn't rub when I had noone in back, but when I had people in the back, they would rub slightly, on the outside lip of the quarter panel.. but I don't haul people in back anymore... so I don't know if I can get away with these tires, or I have to run the 255's? It would be nice to have the taller tire with my 3.90's and the 3.06 ratio of the 1st gear on the 700..
It will be fine. I have seen 275/60/15's on 7's a bunch of times and it worked just fine. There approved sizes are 7.5-9.5. The extra 1/2" narrower is nothing.

When I first bought my car, I had the same size tire on a 6 inch rim. It worked, but not right. I have a 8 inch rim now. 7 will be fine.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the help. How much air can I safely run these at the track. The problem with the 1/8 mile track I will be running at is a circle asphault track, and traction is going to be a problem. Especially with the 3.06 first gear and 3.90's and a roller BBC!
Mine seem to work best with 16-18 psi.
