: Do I hunt or do I buy parts???
67 Swedish Convertible Oct 7th, 09, 08:31 AM Guys,
I have a dilemma...I think I know what you're gonna answer me on this one...Guess you's part in the case, so to speak..
My whole life, I've been dreaming of going to eastern Europe (Poland) to hunt for wild boars. They are plentiful and they are big. Driven hunts for wild boars is probably like drag racing..adrenaline kick..
The cost for such a trip will cost me about 15000 swedish krona. Add gas to get there, pocket money, ferry ticket, licens for my gun to be able to bring it abroad, time off from work yadda yadda..totalling..somewhere around 25.000 swedish money.
I also have the chance of buying parts for my 67...I have got a quote for parts from NPD adding up to $1200..Adding transport will bring a total of $2500-2600.
$2600 is equal to abt 18.000 swedish money..
I have now the chance of doing something I've always dreamt of...That will last for 4 days..
I can also buy parts for the same money...that will last for..???
Help me out - what do I do?
Hunt or buy parts?
Mkelcy Oct 7th, 09, 08:35 AM Hunt. You will have those memories forever.

have to agree with mike....do the hunt! life is too short to let our dreams pass us by.
clwilcox33 Oct 7th, 09, 09:33 AM Do the hunt. The Camaro will be there when you get back and you may have it forever. Don't let your dreams get away from you. You can drive the car when you're 70 but you may not be able to hunt.
stroud6 Oct 7th, 09, 12:21 PM Is this about the hunt or about going to europe. If it is about the hunt there is more wild hogs in the south you can hunt for free than in europe. Some ranches even stock big european boars for people to hunt for a fee. Now if it is about going to europe then yes go and have your dream vacation.I suspect Europe will not be the same in our lifetime the way things are going. Either way, happy hunting. mark
parkbrau Oct 7th, 09, 12:34 PM Mark. He lives in Europe.
Anyway, Do the hunt. Skip Poland, come on down next year, We have some nice boar down here in the Rheinland Pfalz.

Hey parkbrau,
I'd be very happy to come down! That way I can do both the Camaro and the hunting ;-)
You get me hooked up with some hunting party - I can take the 67 down there..
B.t.w - I still owe you for the sealings..Please let me know how much they were..PM me and let me know:thumbsup:
Blown budget Oct 7th, 09, 02:52 PM I think its a no brainer. Go hunting and have a great time with friends or family member. I didn't catch which one. You never know what your health will be like in a few years or for that matter next week. Enjoy life to its fullest. I can tell you this from experience. I almost lost my life twice. Once earlier this year and once last year. It really makes you think about things differently. Take pictures and bring them back after you go to share ith us!!
zuma Oct 7th, 09, 03:35 PM Hunt for 2 days and buy 1/2 of your order ;)....Really, Hunt with your friends...
rj68RS Oct 7th, 09, 04:05 PM I agree too, do the hunt. I've been working on my 68 for over 12 years and it's always there in the garage when I have a little extra money for it to swallow.
We have wild pig just south of me that we often hunt. Sows in the low 200lbs and boars into the 300's. I watched a fellow hunters .223 Remington BTHP bounce off the skull of a big boar once. Got just plain nasty at that point. I take my 30.06 and two clips for my Glock just in case. Never needed to pull the Glock yet on a hunt and hope I never have to.
Everett#2390 Oct 7th, 09, 05:04 PM Hunt. Enjoy it.
okiemark Oct 7th, 09, 07:03 PM I say fix up your Camaro, then use it to run over wild pigs or anything else that gets in the road.
