camaroman7d Oct 7th, 09, 09:37 PM Those are cool! They appear to be some sort of kit that people are putting on quads. I recognize the front suspension and rear axle. Do you have any more info on those? Looks a lot nicer than the hopped up golf carts and should be a lot faster.
zuma Oct 7th, 09, 10:12 PM Royce I did a search and came up with this...

drdave69 Oct 8th, 09, 07:09 AM That is one of coolest things I have seen in a long time.
okiemark Oct 8th, 09, 07:14 AM If I had one, I'd make a little trailer to pull behind.
Mike_M Oct 8th, 09, 09:57 AM Those are awesome! I wonder what it would take to build one....
DOUG G Oct 8th, 09, 02:00 PM That would be cool in the pits at the track or cruising the neighborhood
Melrose RS Oct 8th, 09, 02:01 PM Sick. I wanna see them do a burnout!!
camaroman7d Oct 8th, 09, 04:38 PM Mike,
See what you started! I think I have to have one of these. I'd drive it to work too. Going to do some research to see what it takes to build one. I know the front and rear suspension is from a quad, not sure what they did to the frame.
Vintage 68 Oct 8th, 09, 05:42 PM Hmmmmm

Mav68erick Oct 8th, 09, 09:13 PM They need to have the little attachment like at the theme parks on the electric ceiling, and do some Back to the future type stuff and hit 90mph!
cowboybob Oct 9th, 09, 07:28 AM Do all of these belong to you?

Nope, but I do know the guy with them ;)
He gets from $2~7k each, depending on condition (note: those are the 'parts' cars - he usually only sells complete car).
He has models from the 40's up - some of them are identical to the ones (Lusse Bumper Car company) in the article - he sold them to them...
He's not up to speed on all the modifications the guys did to those to adapt the quad drives and get them licensed.
He did say the first one he saw that the guy in SanDiego built was power by a Harley
There are some he's converted to on-board battery power, so they can be driven around in their original "Bumper Car" mode on plain surfaces.
There was a You-Tube video of them - I haven't seen it in a few years, but I'm sure it's still on, maybe I'll search for it if I get a chance :D
I kicked around getting one a while back and 'wiffed' on it - this may jog me into action again l:)
camaroman7d Oct 9th, 09, 01:37 PM Well I did a little research and found that the cars in the original post were $50,000 I'm hoping that was a typo because that's insane. Finding the bodies is not that hard and they go for anywhere between $500 and $4500 from what I could see.
