Yesterday a pastor from a local chuch asked me to bring bring some before & after pics of my camaro & if it wasn't to much hassle to bring the car to a youth group meeting , it was short notice & I,m really busy at the shop right now but I thought it would be neat for the kids to see a real car so I went. The topic of the night was restoring your life with God & they wanted to show the kids no matter how bad life looks you can restore it back to original , they used my car as an example of that. I was impressed with the wows I got from the bunch of kids they couldn't believe how it looked, alot of good ?'s were asked. Like couldn't you just buy on already done,my answer was I wanted to be sure it was done right & what fun would it be to go to meetings like this and not nowing what the inside of every part looked like (like the clock ). I couldn't believe it but not one of them asked why it still had the AM radio in it yet. they definitly knew that the car was a piece of american history. Plus they all said thanks for bringing the car to their meeting, maybe there is still hope for this country.

I like the comparison made by the pastor using the car. Very cool . Sometimes to really reach kids, you have to use something that they can realate too.
Good for you and your car - and your pastor for some out of the box sort of thinking. Sounds like they were pretty good kids.

Cool! Hopefully you inspired some of them to pick up some hands-on hobbies, too!

Will...
Great thing to do for the kids. If the message got across, you may have saved a lot of their future lives and old cars too boot

Great story and like ive always said, getting in to cars is the best way for a child to keep their head on straight.

Amen to that. That was a great story and keep the good fight.
As I got oder, I was happy with one woman and five cars instead of the other way. I know I saved money in the longrun too.

There was another thread where a pastor used a COPO as an example of gentleness and power - it was a pretty cool analogy too.
