Looking at a car for a fellow car guy and suspect either the VIN plate is swapped or the trim tag was swapped, but maybe both.

Is it possible to have original 01B trim tag on original car 9N561493?

According to CRG, the last VIN out the door in Dec. 68 was 569987. That info still accurate?

Thanks.

If anyone has any info on car 9N561493 in a database, please send me a PM.

No. You're correct in thinking a tag swap.

Well, re read CRGs page on that. They do list a few exceptions. Nothing is a fine line cut.
A car could be delayed, out of order, a matter of days but most likely not more than 2 weeks. You make a good point in checking the vin vs. build date. Now that your curiousity is up, check out other things. If its a swap, ask to check the hidden vins, and the trim tag rivets. Do they look ok?? Is this a high performance car, then check all options and see if they appear factory original or added on.

Put it this way, if that is the VIN and the cowl tag is 01B, then something is wrong. I will PM you.

William knows what he is talking about. :) It's clear cut - that tag and VIN don't match.

Lynn,
Nothing on that VIN.
