It says P8206 does this make it for a 68, for positive? Did any early 69's have this?

Are you sure that is a "2"? It should be a letter.

Somethings wrong. P8206 is not a normal format.

What is the casting number on the side of the case?

If P8 followed by a letter then 2 numbers, for example P8A13 would be
P = Muncie passenger car
8= MODEL YEAR (not the year built)
A= January
13= 13th day of the month

Could be an early (65-66) version if the code is P0206. What's the casting #?

This is close to the production date of my car. Can you post the VIN number stamped on the side of the Muncie?

Usually on the top or side of the middle piece where the tail shaft is bolted to the main case.

I may have to go back and look to see what it is. It's actually a tranny I was contemplating, buying. I was hoping it was a 69 tranny, but I still might buy it......
