: 67 Convertible.
diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 02:47 PM Hello everyone,
Just went and looked at this car (http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/1404057107.html) and it needs all kinds of work. Comes with only the parts in the pics, needs a full floor, trunk floor and maybe the firewall. Also has rust damage behind the rear wheels on the quarters. The doors were not lining up but that's to be expected, no convertible top or frame, no interior.
I offered $2500 and I still think I was being generous. He won't come below $4k. Are the convertibles that much more wanted than hardtops? Thanks.
Melrose RS Oct 8th, 09, 02:52 PM Just for comparison, I haven't see this car up close but...$10.5k

diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 02:56 PM Wow, I'm going to send him that link and see what he thinks. Would like to get a convertible but not 100% dead set. Thanks for the link Melrose RS.
SASROD Oct 8th, 09, 03:58 PM FWI there is currently a 1969 top bow set in the dallas craigs list for $250. Dont know if its the same as a 1967, though. I'm sure someone on here could tell you the differences.
(its not mine by the way)
jg95z28 Oct 8th, 09, 04:13 PM Does it have a title or is it bill of sale only?
diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 04:15 PM He's got a clear title.
Thanks for the heads up on the bow set, had seen it earlier...same guy has a grill also.
diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 04:54 PM I guess I should ask, was I wrong in offering $2500? I had seen others in running condition for 9k so that's why I thought $6500 was way high, then seeing all the metal it needs, that lowered even more.
I am not very experienced on this so any help would be appreciated.
DDOLES Oct 8th, 09, 05:18 PM I paid 4500 for mine four years ago and it was in terrible shape but complete
The Sleeper 327 Oct 8th, 09, 06:22 PM I was looking at it as 3-5k. Its hard to say without seeing it, and you will have to take into account as to what you are capable of doing yourself and what it will cost for someone else to do the work. If your going to pay someone else to do all the work, you are probably better off buying a more complete car and add finishing touches to satisfy your tastes.
diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 07:56 PM I can mig and tig, and have done all kinds of work on motorcycles. Just not sure how much different this would be. Thanks for the help.

$2500 is a very fair offer. Unless you are absolutely stuck on a vert, there are awesome deals to be had. The parts are all available, but it will be costly in the long run.
diel11 Oct 8th, 09, 08:14 PM Not stuck on the convertible at the moment. The one advantage is the car is very close to me, no shipping, just put it on my trailer and bring it home. So I've even taken the shipping savings into consideration. I just need to be more patient for sure. Thanks for the reply.
kz1000ltd Oct 9th, 09, 02:02 AM That Camaro has been for sale for quite some time. Much better deals to be had IMHO...........
