I'm not too happy with the repro dash pads made for these cars. And the aftermarket dashes out there conists of cutting, fitting, welding, and painting custom dashes and they cost $1500+ (marquez, etc). So what have you guys done? I was thinking of getting a custom made leather or vinyl dash pad to go all the way to the windshield, just something smooth and subtle but havent seen any yet.

I also thought about this. I tried buying a used dash pad to modify but could not find on that was not cracked on the under base. So I bought a new one. But ended up buying the Marquez Design interior kit.

But my initial thought was to remove the outer material of the dash. Then lay the under layment on the metal dash and fiberglass to it. I was going to make it fit all the way to the dash and contour it to look good with fiberglass. Then have it upholstered with leather.

It can be done but will be alot of work. I think it will look good when done.

Here is the link to the dash install.

I was thinking about fiberglass too. I've been watching your thread on the dash build. It looks amazing! I just cant budge that much $$ and time for that dash. I would love to, but i'd rather put that money into something thats much more needed....hm like some DISC BRAKES! LOL

Your ride is looking sick!
