So what say you?? 68 worth more...or is the 69 worth more, what about resale?? both cars are nice.. Thanks guys!!!!
Guest174 Oct 10th, 09, 11:22 PM kelly,
the descriptions not withstanding, generally the '69 model year is the more desirable and therefore would demand more money and hold a higher resale. if the descriptions are 100% true and accurate, the '69 would hold the higher value.
lowbuck69x11 Oct 11th, 09, 09:17 AM 69 would be my choice also-but X11 code is not "rare"
Eric Kammerer Oct 11th, 09, 09:22 AM If the 69 has a verified, numbers matching (aka "born with") drivetrain, it is an SS350 car. In equal condition, an SS350 69 4-speed car is "worth" a lot more than an L30/Glide 68 RS. Like $10K more.
Not all (in fact most) X11 coded cars are not SS350 cars. But if this one has the born with drivetrain and the stamps are real (not restamped), this is a no-brainer as to value between the two cars.
SPARKY69 Oct 11th, 09, 09:51 AM The 69!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes sir!!!........
The 69 has a 9k higher asking price, I am gonna get more pics and info on it today. I was up til past midnight reading on this great site, to much to learn!..i have been looking for long time for a clean car in the 35k range that is close to me and these are within driving distance. i kinda like the 69. cortez silver is nice color..when i get the cowl tag etc i will post that info as well thanks for all the help so far!!

SPARKY69 Oct 11th, 09, 09:58 AM Good luck and keep us posted!
ChevyThunder Oct 11th, 09, 10:02 AM The 69 hands down .... I assume the AM/FM is a "blue light " ? Depending on condition those fetch 750-1500 dollars alone .
really for a radio..wow..never would have guessed that!!. I am leaning to the 69 because i have always wanted a 4 sp car. not that the rs isn't nice as i would be proud to own either thats for sure.

okiemark Oct 11th, 09, 10:33 AM main thing to do is verify everything. get pics of the stamped pad. did the seller say it's the original radio?
No he did not, but looking at the pics it appers to be a factory radio.
Guest174 Oct 11th, 09, 07:04 PM No he did not, but looking at the pics it appers to be a factory radio.
for the amount you are looking to spend, assume nothing and verify everything!!
Good advise and thank you. I will be asking lots of questions on whatever i get, hopefully the 69 works out, if it does i will asking some questions of all you, lucky for me yer a helpful bunch!!..

captcanuck68 Oct 12th, 09, 09:52 AM Guess it depends too, whether it's gonna be a keeper, or more of an investment.

Kinda both i want a car i can enjoy and not lose my rear on it when the time comes to buy another one, i plan on keeping it for 3-5 years. I already have a "keeper" its a 1968 chevy 1/2 ton that i restored(resto mod, 486 dart heads, t400, 3.73 rear etc) my dad gave me when i was 14, i just turned 40, my ol truck will go to my daughter when the time comes, it won't be for a while as she is only 7..
captcanuck68 Oct 13th, 09, 08:11 AM Just be careful how much $ you put into it if it is to be a keeper, eh?... esp if it's a run of the mill. If however, it's an investment, it'd had better be one of a kind, sought after model, low miler with plenty of options. IMO
