: '69 Camaro "shell'
okiemark Oct 13th, 09, 10:24 AM Just wondering... if a Dynacorn '69 "shell" is worth, say $15,000, what would an original '69 body, all fab work completed, no bondo, original sheet metal be worth? Let's say the trim tag was nothing special. Dont have a particular car in mind, just curious about this.
SPARKY69 Oct 13th, 09, 10:34 AM you can buy a dyna down here for 13k but i would rather have the gm body for sure!! its worth more to me!!..but ive never put a dyna together so i dont know the real differences??

On a scale from 1 - 10 probably a 6
zman1969 Oct 14th, 09, 11:49 AM Mark, I think where the body assy become a deal is with rusty cars, by the time you replace floors, trunk, frame rails, rockers,firewall- and whatever else is junk -especially if you have to pay someone to replace all that, but hopefully you have alot of the trim, hinges, panels, interior, drivetrain to go in it. who can afford to start with a shell and buy all the stuff you need to finish it-YECH! talk about money pit!! seems like around here junk plain ole 69s bring 5k or more as rollers - I bought a 69 bird as a parts car for $850 and it was alot better off than the camaro I was going to build even though it needed rear floors, trunk, quarters, fenders course it costs more to build a bird. You really have to have something to compare the shell to.
The Sleeper 327 Oct 14th, 09, 01:05 PM The dynacorn body is also from a dealer/vendor. Does that mean you should take off 15%-25% just like a new car? At that point, I think it would be a tie, but you can always find deals. I think that makes you better off buying an original, plus than its original!
