Looking to Sell a 327 from a 67 Camaro Convertible 275 HP 4 Barrel but I need to know what an appropriate asking price is. The odometer said 78000 Miles when I pulled the engine.

3 #s I could find on the block are

852
H24 870

E 65 (think this is date code of block)

GM 3782870

I also have the whole matching numbers drivetrain from the car...

Not an original motor.
Also, if you are saying it is the original drive train, wouldn't it be better selling it if you listed the assembly date of the car???
and what kind of trans????
and what kind of rear end????????

They are a dime a dozen unless someone wants the dates. Valuable if someone wants the dates. If it falls into the dime a dozen range, PM me.

I have it listed FOR SALE in the Classifieds, all I was looking for was an idea of what it's worth $$... Why do you say "Not an original motor"??

Car vin tag:
09 E
67-12667 NOR XXXXX BODY
779-Z K-1 PAINT
D 2MG 35K
5Y
Trans is a Powerglide (Couldn't Find # on Pan)
Rear: PW 092 C

Guess my grandfather neglected to mention he had the engine swapped.... Are you positive it's not original??
I kinda found it odd when i saw the date code ending w/ a 5...
just kinda figured it was an early production block, guess i may have been wrong.

Is there a way to figure out what it's from.... crossing my fingers, maybe a vette??

Look at the block in front of the passenger side head.Their will be numbers stamped their that tell what the engine is from unless it has been decked.

You need to get the casting numbers off the heads. Also the carb. intake and exhaust manifolds and distributor. I bet they are from your Camaro. That stuff needs to be sold apart from the engine.

this thread reminded me of the 80's when ALL 327's came out of a vette :D

I always wondered where all the engineless vette's were

about 200$ for the block heck i have a friend with an ugly arse el camino man witha 327 in it lol .... 327s went with so many diffrent cars unless you had the POP to prove it came from a Vette the casting numbers could mean many diffrent applications for GM...

Well first off my firend stray away from dropping the word "Vette" I have seen 327s in many cars including ugly el caminos lol so it means nothing to me also i hate vettes and you arent selling a vette.. you are selling a 1967 Camaro the worlds first outstanding pony car hands down.. I can say that as i own a 67 camaro..

Please also dont waste to much time looking for casting numbers etc, i have a 68 camaro that is all OEM with cruise control and the "POP" meaning before we even step 1 foot out my door towards the car i have the protecto plate, and all the documentation to prove the engine and transmission/drive train ect are are original but that really only sells stil to a limited crowd looking for all original... but without it its very difficult if not impossible to prove matching #s ...

Sell her as she is for what she is and how she is,,, she is the 1st Camaro a 1967 Camaro which is personally my favorite car... I think youd be surprsied what you could get for it.. now Id say she is worth beteen 16-20k without matching numbers etc... thats asumming the car drives good, everything works, interior is decent and body is also decent with a fair paint job. Thats my estimate, of course i dont have enough detail on your car though, do you have any pictures of it? Is she operational etc? You could sell the car right here in the classifieds as well for free..

He isn't selling his car.He is selling the 327 that was in his car.By the codes it is a 327 from a Vette which makes it worth more than an ElCamino 327.

Thanks for the info, but I am not selling the car... I restored the car and am a VERY PROUD owner of MY 67! I went the restomod route, so the original drivetrain is FORSALE... After doing some digging, I found that the Engine had been swapped (guess my grandfather neglected to mention that) so I wanted to be honest to prospective buyers and explain EXACTLY what I have FORSALE.

Here is a link to my car...

All the Vettes that came with 327s are now number matching 427 435HP cars. I'd just like to know where all those 427 engines came from....
