Can anyone help me with a correct tire size for my camaro. It is a 67 12 bolt, lowered 1,5 inches with hotchkis rear springs. Also have slide a link set up. Has 15 * 8 on rear and they need to be replaced withBFG raised white letter rubber. There is an off brand on there rreetly and I wanted some additional width. Does anyone know what will fit under the stock wheel well? I would appreciate any help.

In my experiences you are generally able to get more tire on the front of a 1969 than a 1967 or 68 and more tire on the rear of a 1967 or 1968 than a 1969.

If the wheels are 15x8 and it's been lowered I would go no more than P255/60/R15 tops....P275/60/R15 may clear a stock vehicle with stock ride height but lowered could mean it may bottom out over bumps at the top of the quarter panel as the overall diameter of the tire is larger.

Fitment will depend on what backspacing you have on those wheels... I think 4.5" backspace is about right. If you have less backspace (wheel further outboard) then you'll hit the fender lip sooner. If you have more backspace (wheel further inboard) then you'll be closer to rubbing on the inner wheelwell.

275/60R15 is a pretty tall (~28") tire. Actually, I think a 255/60R15 is kind of tall too (~27"). Either of these will tend to give you the retro/drag-race type look (in my opinion) with taller/bigger rear tires and a bit of rake. I'd worry a bit about things hitting with a 28" tall tire though...

I'm not too familiar with the 67/68 setups, but based on my experience with my '69, I'd go with 245/60R15 or 235/60R15 in the rear. 235's clear fine out back and I'm pretty sure the 245's will be fine too. The 235's have a "near stock" overall diameter of ~26" and the 245's are a little taller at ~26.6" (based on BFG Radial T/A specs)

There's not a whole lot of choices if you want BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. On an 8" rim, I wouldn't go over a 255 but then I don't like the sidewalls to bubble out on the rim too much.

Here's a chart of their sizes with installed height so you can match up the front and rear. With your drop, anything over a 26" tall or so may be too much. I would say 245/60 rear and 215/65 front would look good.

I have 15x7's TT-D's with 3.76 BS running 245/60-15 BFG's on my 68 vert with 1.5" drop in the rear and 2" drop up front. I have almost 1" of space between the outer edge of the tire and the fender lip so I'd think a 255 or 265 would fit nicely on a 8" rim as long as the back spacing is right.

I have a 68 with 15 x 7 all round with 235/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear.
It is a around 1" lower than std all round, and have plenty of clearance.

I think it needs a little more or the rear, so I plan to fit 255/60/15 on the rear to just fill up the guard a little more,
When you think about it it is only 1/2 inch taller (than 245/60) that is 1/4 inch top and 1/4 inch bottom hardly going to change the stance that much.
And width wise 10mm total or 5mm per side that equals about 3/16 on an inch per side.
The tyre should still fit easliy up inside the guard, with ample clearance for suspension travel.

Can anyone help with this, I am looking at 18"x8 Foose Legends on the rear and 17" x 7 on the front. anybody know what the biggest size tire I can get on these to fit a 69 Camaro thats been lowered 2" ???? Thanks guys , Dave
