I have some black OEM plastic seat belt buckle covers that I am trying to restore. What can I use to buff out small scratches and polish to shiny finish without removing the original black color?? Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Don

Not real familiar with the plastic buckle covers, but I think they're solid black plastic...no chance of "rubbing through" the color ??

Meguiars makes a good plastic polish that is applied by hand. If ya need something for more severe scratches, Eastwood offers various buffing wheels and a compound for plastic.

Yep, a little wet sanding to smooth out the scratches and some buffing wheels and compound. Works fine. Black work the best, other colors come out a little blotchy because they fade unevenly.

You can't buff through the plastic color, they're molded. Just sand out the scratches starting with 320 grit working up to 1500 or finer grit. Then buff them out. Same principle as polishing anything else. I saw pics here of the same thing months ago.

Will give this a shot.
