I have a 69 z/28 and I want to replace the tires to the factory originals. What are they and where do you get them?
Thanks
Dave

Here is a picture of what is on my car now

The original owner said he thinks this is the same tires that came on it when he bought the car. The spare tire is the same and it's like brand new

Those Eagle ST's are not original. I believe them to be radials and no American car had radials from the factory in the 60's. My memory says the neighbor's 69 Z rolled on Goodyear Polyglas E or F70-15's, But I'm getting old.

I pulled those from CRG. All this data is over there.

More orginal would be Goodyear E-70-15, Bias Belt or Firestones.

Those Eagle STs might be bias/belted, but they aren't the tires the car had from the factory.

I had a 69 Z brand new, and it came with Goodyear Polyglass GT, E70 15s. If you want show tires there are repops out there. If you want to drive the car stick to radials.
Coker tire used to have the Gooyear repops, I see they have the Firestone Wide Ovals for $264 each.

If you bought a Z that came with Firestones, they were the sport car 200

Very cool tire, I've seen them on a authentic original owner '69 Z and they look great (and will set it apart from most others).

WHY? I can see this for a restored show car but OE tires ride like crud compared to radials. The Firestones are made with nylon cords which flat spot when parked - now they ride like square tires until they get up to temp then they will even up and ride better-thats why all are made from polyester cords now as they are stronger and dont flat spot. If it were me the polygas goodyears would be a better choice for a show car not for a driver - my.02c

Ogiginal equipment on a 1968-9 Z/28 from Goodyear was a E70-15 Speedway Wide Tread RWL or a Firestone E70-15 Sports Car 200.
Polyglas tires came out in 1970 and are not correct for 1969...:noway:

Ok So lets say I wanted to replace the tires for a driver type tire what would you put on that may look like the originals? Should I just replace the ST's? Thanks for the help
