: Need some help here eh?????
Brandan Oct 18th, 09, 09:06 PM Well I have been restoring the frame to the power top on my '67. It is almost all ready to go.:D So here I am today trying to get the mounting bolts all in order and everything looks like it is going to line up until I get to the bolt that attaches to the hydraulic cylinder.
A couple of things, first is there a bushing that is supposed to go on the loop on the top of the cylinder? The bolt that I have will fit through the loop but there will be play..... If memory serves me right I don't remember there being a bushing on the top..???.. also does anyone have a pic or two of the other attachments to the frame top to the hydraulic cylinders and brackets.

67conv.cam Oct 19th, 09, 07:05 PM i will look at my top and see... i think there is a bushing
Brandan Oct 19th, 09, 08:18 PM Kevin, I looked in the Fisher manual and it goes into B and C types and has an illustration with a bushing. The F body area didn't really say. Thanks for checking, if you have some pics of the bolts properly mounted to the frame top it would help.
Thanks

67 Swedish Convertible Oct 20th, 09, 11:03 PM Brandan,
There is a bushing there. I'm 100% sure. I think I have got some pics from when I removed the frame.
I'm at work right now and I have restricted access to certain sites (youtube, Photobucket etc). Please have a look at my pics following the link below. If you can't find it - let me know and I'll search for it tonight after work.
Brandan Oct 21st, 09, 12:22 AM Jan, I checked but you have a lot of pictures and I didn't see any of the cylinder top....I am thinking that there probably is a bushing, so now might be where do i get it???

Brandan Oct 22nd, 09, 09:14 AM Thanks Mark I got the files and yes there are bushings. I have a few different companies that I am going to check to see if they do sell em.... Hemming is also a good idea....

Wilson67 Oct 22nd, 09, 11:05 PM Brandan, when I was re-assembling my top, the Trim shop guy had kept my plastic bushings so I went to a John Deere dealer with the measurements of the hole size and inner bolt size - we found a listing for brass bushings from a lawn tractor - ordered them in. They fit fine & work great. Although I got the plastic bushings back from the top installer, I've left my brass ones in place. The brass won't damage the cylinder - it's softer metal, but stronger than the plastic.
wagonman Oct 23rd, 09, 10:14 PM try convertible top specialists......i think they are in fla.

Brandan Oct 24th, 09, 12:48 AM thanks for the replies and conv top spec was one of my aces in the hole but i looked at their website the other day and bushing were not to be found... You woule think that with the power top the same from 67 to 69 there might be some bushing parts available. I will figure something out but as for now, I am restoring the top frame and getting it ready to attach to the body.
thanks for the help so far..............
