Hello, all
I' want to know if a 2nd week of January, 69 build date Z28 should have an 8K tach or the early 7k tach. I have Jerrys M's book but it says that the tach was changed in January and is not to specific. I would like to have the correct one for my restoration since the original one was missing from my basket case project. Thanks for your input.

Most likely your car had the 7000 rpm tach. A bit early for the 8000.

Like the 68/69 spoilers, both tachs were used in Z/28s for a short time. Manufacturing being what it is it is not uncommon to see non-normative parts. For years there was an 06A Z/28 in town with a 7000k tach. I know of a 1-owner L35 SS that was built with a6000/7000 tach.
