I purchased a close to original 67 Camaro a few years ago and it retained most of its original standard red interior. When I bought the car I noticed that it had after market "lift latch" red seat belts in the front and no belts in the back. After removing the rear seat to install some fresh carpet I found what appeared to be the original black seat belts (date coded 1967) underneath the seat. Can anyone tell me if this car would have had red or black seat belts when purchased new or would the color matched belts be an added option? I've seen cars with both colors and I assume mine should be black???

My 67 interior was all original and mine were Black, date coded 67 too. Van Nuys cowl tag.

Red interior: 741 Standard interior seat belts were black, 742 deluxe interior belts were red. http://www.camaros.org/seatbelt.shtml
