Steptoe Oct 30th, 09, 03:25 PM lube every thing that rubbs and moves. Everett#2390 Oct 31st, 09, 06:11 AM True, the rods themselves need to be clean of anything as the slighest rust pit will destroy the rod seal. The trick I did to one brand of convert I had was disconnect the rod from the frame and retract the rod into the cylinder during the winter months. Rod is inside and protected. Its not like you're gonna put the top down in winter unless you would to put it down and cruise the streets aka sleigh ride during the snow...kindda neat.
