If you take your car, I would advise paying to put it in the show. In thae past when I would take my car, it made me feel a lot better taking it into the show. You will also get two passes for the weekend. If you choose not to bring it in, it will be sitting out in the unpaved parking area right along side everyones daily drivers.

Maybe I should bring my car out. It has never been in a show!

I believe if you show indoors you have to leave it from Friday through Sunday.

If I'm not working my sons and I are going. I have a few nick-knacks to look for at the swap meet.

I would suggest not leaving your Camaro in the general admission parking lot as I know too many folks over the years that have had parts "borrowed" while the security and parking staff had their heads turned. Friends of theirs, very well could be. The old rules used to say cars had to stay onsite. I heard that due to liability insurance costs the fairgrounds has forced a rule change - check the info on the GoodGuys site (http://www.autumngettogether.com/).

...... Thinking about a black plate for my '72...truck.

Go for it. You need to do the DMV dance like the rest of us.

Glad someone posted this. Any breakfast plans? It would be about a 4 year "tradition". Not sure yet if I am going. I know it will not be with the car.

For indoor display it's a nightmare to get a car out of a building without moving all the cars that came in around it unless it's right by a door. I don't know about the liability insurance but they don't have security at night in the outdoor display area and they won't let you leave your car over night in the outdoor area.

I'm up for breakfast at Mimi's if others want to go Sat...I got the plates for the 67 from restorer and the DMV tags on the same day last week (wanted to keep it a secret as Farmboy was watchin ;) ).

Think I'm safe talkin' about the truck...was surprised that they go to '72 on trucks..

I read there is an autocross event at this one. Any pro touring guys or any TC members at all participating? If so can you take some pics?

The flier says there will be a Street Challenge Autocross.

Looks like I won't have work to do on Saturday so I'm going with at least one of my sons in tow, maybe both, possibly the wife too. Probably get there between 9:30-10am as getting teenagers to wake up before noon on a weekend takes an act of god.

Anyone that is going and wants to meet up drop me a PM or email and I'll give you my cell number.

Angel, I will be missing the show but the carclub GGSMU which I belong will be showing 25 or so cars on display at one of the indoor buildings. Just outside in the grassy area (at least that is his plan), keep an eye out for a red 67 vert...looks stock but it has had a ton of mods done to it...It's been a 4 year project for Lee..(His name) Great guy and I hear his 67 is bad a$$...Have a nice time guys... :D

Got to the fairgrounds at 10am. Had both boys and the wife along so I didn't get to see quite everything but we took a few photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/11206255@N02/sets/72157622804446642/). The autocross was wild. Unfortunately I didn't have a good angle to take pictures so I just enjoyed the show and a cold beer. Way more cars for sale than I'd seen in one place in a while. I already know what my next project is going to be..... a 1952-53 Chevy 3100 pickup.

Mike, i did see your club at the show. they took up most of the space in the one building that they were at. i also saw the 69 vert. very nice car.

well, i woke up early in the morn to find the ground wet. no problem. i drove to the san mateo bridge, with the top down, when it started to rain!!(sidetrack, as im watching the new right not, the weather man just said "we had some unexpected rain today. thanks for the update weatherman). it rained on my from the san mateo bridge to the fairgrounds. i can no longer say that my car has never had any water on it cuz it just got rained on. i also use my windshield wipers for the first time. i pull into the chevron gas station and then my wipers decide to stop working. after filling up with gas, my car doesnt want to start. it wasnt cranking at all. i tried a couple of times until the 4th or 5th time when i kinda force the key more towards the starting position and it starts to crank. it almost felt like the switch under the dash that is screwed onto the steering column. hopefully it will start tomorrow when i pick up the car but if it doesnt, hopefully i can get a couple guys to puch me so i can bump start it. well, the day ended up being a nice sunny day. there were alot of very nice cars at the show. one of the staff says that there were mors cars than unual.

is there anyone else that is going to go on sunday? maybe we can hook up for a dog and a beer?

I was there too… I saw Royce at one of the food booths… we were both getting corn dogs…man Royce is one tall guy… I stayed and watched the Auto Cross and saw Mary Posize run and she had the fastest time for several rounds. Then I saw another girl run… from the club and her first run was not great as she took out the finish line cones and knocked out the timing system. I have a bunch of pictures from the Auto Cross but I’m waiting to see if the people want to pay me to “delete” them….All in all, it was a good day after the clouds burned off.

I was in the pit area just in front of the finish line... I'm a "short fat guy" and I'm hard to miss... just ask anybody that knows me... So where was your car parked? About the only area that I didn't go through was the overflow area just outside the Auto Cross area...

I went Saturday..didn't see Angel's car indoors or anyone else I knew :clonk:

I did see Mike McGee in the swap meet area. Went early..about 8:30 and was gone by 1 or so...I did see Mary by her car but she was busy talkin to others so didn't bother her...When I mentioned her name my boy Alec said that Mary drives like a maniac!

I'll let him know she won (way to go Mary!)...maybe when he's old enough you can take him for a lap!
