I got accepted in to diesel school! Only 16 get picked out of 50 or so that apply! :) So that being said i have to pay 17k+ with a student loan after the 16months of school. Now my question is does anybody on here know a good place to get grant money and what not? I dont make anything really at the moment and my parents are paying for my sisters school so im trying to find anything i can to get help to chip away at the student loans. Man am i psyched because i didnt think i would get accepted.

thanks!

Alex - for federal aid, grants and student/parent loans you have to submit the fasfa form just like you were going to a conventional school. The form will determine what your "expected family contribution" is and provide what you are entitled to in the way of student aid.

Aside from that you need to be looking for private scholarships, the school should have someone you can go to for help dealing with tuition and finances.

Congratulations and don't let the red tape stop you. It's a pain in the butt, but every student/family has to deal with it...

Congrats

Have you gone through this process yet? It's generally the first step. Lots of pages to fill out, but you can do it online and it allows you to exit out and come back later to finish.

Good luck!

good luck Alex. just remember the cost of schooling is a drop in the bucket.save the money and try to get an apprentiseship at a trucking co or dealer.even after 16K of schooling.they may still hire you at a 3rd year apprentise.plus ALL the tools to buy.another $50-75 a week for ever:(I was lucky,I started on cars at small shop at 20 and went to work at a union trucking co. at 24.Now at 45,I have lots of camaro money in my pension plan:yes:.put the money towords a really nice Snap On or Mac tool box, some good tools( no craftsman).best of luck
