I converted my 69 a few years back from 4 wheel drums to 4 wheels disc's using a complete kit from CPP (I think that's the name of it). I am running 18"/20" wheels on the street but would like to purchase a set of wheels and slicks for the track. When I bought the kit it stated you must run a 16" wheel or bigger to clear the brakes (the caliper I'm sure).
My question is, is there a way to clearance the caliper or what not to make 15" wheels work for what I want? Has any tried or done this without any issues?
I don't have any 15" wheels lying around or I would check all this myself so I thought I'd ask.

What size rotors and what caliper does it use? I was able to make the 12" c4 corvette style brakes clear 15x7 steel rally's with a 3/16 spacer and grinding the fins a bit on the calipers. I'm not familiar with the kit you used, can you post a link to the kit, maybe we can help better? -Dan

I have 15x8" rally wheels with a C4 setup. A 1/4" spacer allowed fitment with no grinding.

I bought a CPP kit for my 69 Camaro with their drop spindles
The problem I ran into was rim hits the steering arm. I had to have 15x6 rally wheels made by Rally America (559-347-9665) with 3.5 back spacing
to run 15 inch tires on the front. CPP didn't tell me anything about
this untill after spending about 2 weeks on the phone and sending them alot of pictures hope it helps

yep, there is even use to be a sticky on this site ( http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=132682 ) and others about drop spindles on 1st gen camaros, pretty common problem... best bet, don't use drop spindles but I'm guessing you figured that out the hard way. Lower it via drop springs, coil-overs, etc and an upper a-arm relocation for geometry and you can get the handling a lot better too.
