I've searched this topic but all that came up were questions about templates and paint gaskets. I was wondering how to instal the actual housing, What type of nut is used? Alsp, I purchased a pair of backup light housings from Classic Industries and they only have 2 mounting pins on the back of them. I though there were supposed to be 4, or am I mistaken?

The lights are held to the rear panel with J nuts. I think the other two holes in the panel are for the screws that hold the lens on. Some one will tell me if I'm wrong, I've had the light off my car for years.

They have 2 upper pins and 2 bottom screws that holds them on with the J nuts. I got the J nuts from Ricks. I also bought the templet which helps in putting them in the right spot. There is no gasket between the light and the body.
The 2 upper pins just slide in the hole. I had to drill them a little bigger so the light would sit flush. I also like using the uni-bits for drilling.
In the trunk area beside the inner brace for the bumper you will see a half moon cut out of the bracket on the trunk floor. That is where the wire harness goes thru the trunk floorboard. That is where you drill the hole for the harness.

They may sell them, but they were not used at the factory. Just like the caution fan sticker...

Mine have never been touched and I was gonna offer to remove one. But Jims picture can't be beat.
Nope, don't see a gasket.
