In Northern California, are road coarse/autocross type events that would take advantge of a Pro Touring car pretty rare? I know Sears Point has events but I have seen smaller events in parking lots that a club may put on, like all the Vettes I saw racing around cones in an empty parking lot at the Oakland Coliseum a couple weeks ago. Are these smaller events common? Unless its specific to one club, how are they advertised?
Thanks

Try looking at the NASA or the SCCA websites. They might have something smaller advertised. Try www.norcalufo.org They're in Monterey County. The Pozzi's race there. Someday, I hope to be there too. Good Luck.

Thanks! Right now I am in the "Hopefully someday" category as well.

There may be an event coming up at Laguna Seca with the Northern California Racing Club. There's also Thunderhill with Green Flag and other organizations.

Is there any one place that provides the info for these races?

Nope. There are sometimes posts on pro-touring.com in the Racing Events section.

Some organizations to follow are:

Speedventures
Green Flag
SCCA
Northern California Racing Club
Various Cobra and Pantera clubs.
Buttonwillow Raceway Park
Thunderhill
Laguna Seca
