That is about a high 12 second combo that he gots going on there with those gears. More than likely a Eddy RPM intake would be a better fit for that combo than the Torker as far as rpm range if I remember correctly. But sometimes you gotta run what ya have.

And that is assuming the duration of that cam matches the compression, headers, and intake and gears of that combo.
And that he knows how to shift a 4speed!
When you run a manual trans alot has to do with the shifting skills of the driver.

He needs more gear.A 383 has a short stroke (3.36")they like to turn.Put some 4.56s in it.

Yep I agree, he could use more gear as that is the first thing I mentioned as well. But if he wants to keep it reasonably streetable then I would go with a 3.91 suregrip and it would probably match closer to his cam and cylinder head capabilities as he is probably not flowing too much cfm with those 906's unless they were professionally ported and flowed.

I had a few 69 383 4 speed Roadrunners back in the day....The one with the 3.23 sure grip had no get-up-and-go!....The one with the 3.91 sure grip schit-and-get in all gears!....It had the Direct Connection "Purple Shaft" hydraulic cam, I think it was something like .484 lift/284 duration and also had the electronic ignition conversion and headers with the stock Carter AVS carburetor....Man!, that car was fast!
