Is the gap consistent? Adjust them back.

Are they after market fenders? If so it is a very common problem.

Is it just at the top or the full length. My buddy and I rolled the metal on the door and refolded it. This was just at the top though.

I would weld it to the fender. this way your correcting the problem panel and not making two incorrect panels. If your in an accident or if by chance the fender ever needs replacing again you wont have to modify the door to fit.

Its also easier to access the back side of the fender for corrosion protection from the burn off due to the heat.

I've never heard of welding onto a panel to make a gap correct. I think I'd try elongating holes and use some shims before I would start welding on something that should fit. I have installed hundreds of fenders and never had to weld onto the edges.

I have done it countless times with street rods but never had to do it on a Camaro. If done correctly no one will ever know unless you told them and it will last the life of the car.

I did welding rod on my trunk lid to "adjust " the gap on my 69 bird. Works fine nobody will ever know..

I would do the door. It isn't that hard to blend it in and you can not get to the back side of the fender since there is a bracket in there behind the sheet metal. I have original fenders and doors and they all needed patches or tweaking to give good gaps. Factory metal /cars didn't have great gaps to begin with but admittedly still better then repro stuff

I am with Robert you should be able to get the gaps right even with after market. Is the front of the door even with the front of the rocker or at least close if not you may have to move the door forward. If the car is in primer the gap at the door to quarter can look to big until you get paint on it.I had a problem with the top of my fender to door gap not the full lenght.Try and post some picks of the gaps let some of the experts on TC give some ideas.Your not gonna get Lexus gaps like the one fella said but they do need to be the same for the full length and consistant.Do you have help while doing this it does take four hands and a monkey on a stick some times to get them ligned up.Hope it all works out for you.

Try to adjust the fenders again. I did the drivers side and it was ok. Then later I did pass side and got it perfect! Went back to the drivers side and worked on it more and got that side closer so it matches the pass side. You just have to keep trying.

I have one original...driverside and one repop....passenger side. passenger side would not line up no matter what i tried. i have 20yrs doing paint and body work professionally. The problem is these repops do not fit at all especially if made over seas. Weld on it!!
