I am starting the restoration of my '67 convertible and am looking at removing the top to redo the manual frame. Any body know the process of removing the top from the car? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First things first John. Buy a 1967 Fisher body manual, and read and study the section on the top and frame, as well as the windows adjustments. This is all heavilty covered here. You can get the manual from any reproduction house.

The top is stapled to the front header bow.
It there is a tack strip that slips in for the second bow, remove philips screws from inside the car.
Third bow is tacked under the trim strip, remove the stainless corner peices, unfold the trim strip and remove the staples.
IMPORTANT: Measure and record the distance between the second and third bows before taking this apart, you'll need this dimension to get the top on right!
Finally, the back of the top, along with the lower edge of the window and the rear edge of the boot cover, are stapled to trim strips around the base of the top, the trimstrips are then bolted to the back of the car. Take off the bolts, then pull the staples.

That will leave the sidepads, side wires, and the top of the window attached to the frame, and then the frame attached to the car.

Note again that this is all tricky stuff due to the dozens of "analog" adjustment points in both the top and the frame. you need to understand the process, and do a bunch of marking and measuring as it comes apart, to ensure that anyone can put it all back together properly.

Thanks Jim, I was afraid it was too easy to just remove some bolts. I will check into that manual. I have some manuals on it but I dont think I have that one.

Body manual = must have!!!!
