I have a 76 camaro with a 1986 305 engine. My question is will the power steering pump off the 86 engine work on the 76 steering box. Right now I have the cars original pump hooked up but can not get all of the original brackets to fit the 86 engine. I also have exhaust headers on the car. The way I have it now the belt keeps loosening up thus causing me to lose power steering. The 86 pump is a smaller different design. Thanks

Newer pump/system is metric threads and O-ring sealed hoses.
If you have headers, the front bolt should provide a mounting point for the bracket. Use a spacer to make up the difference from 2 inches, as this is the thickness of the flange and use the OE bolt as it is a double threaded, has a stud on top.
