: 12 bolt rebuild $$$
kv67ssrs Nov 17th, 09, 02:54 PM I got quoted $1400 to rebuild a 12 bolt. (New Eaton posi, US Gear 3.73 gears, all new bearings, powdercoated.
Is that in the ballpark? Or does anyone know anybody in the Tulsa, Ok area?

TJS69 Nov 18th, 09, 12:50 PM The excessive time is due to setting the pinion preload and the gear back lash. It must be shimmed to the proper setting. It is not a "just bolt it together" type of thing. It is a job for an experienced person. Not just any mechanic should, or will do this !
